The Indian School Certificate (ISC) is an examination conducted
by the Council
for the Indian School Certificate examination. Students must study English as a
compulsory subject and opt for four additional subjects as electives, based on
the stream (Humanities, Commerce or Science) they choose to pursue. The
curriculum inculcates academic rigour and requires students to develop the
ability to understand and apply their knowledge of fundamental concepts across
subjects.
Jamnabai Narsee School also offers a rich range of co-curricular
and
extra-curricular activities that help mould our students into well-rounded,
confident individuals:
CO-CURRICULAR & EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITES:
The school offers the following programmes to promote the holistic development
of children, shaping them into free-thinking global citizens, who, when faced
with challenges, use their imagination and analytical abilities to arrive at
pragmatic solutions.
A wide
range of competitions are held across
diverse disciplines to offer students a
platform to hone and showcase their
talents. Be it debate or dramatics, art
or fashion designing, students are
constantly challenged and given
myriad opportunities to explore, grow
and shine. Competitions are held for
various sports as well.
The Annual World Summit hosted by Jamnabai Narsee
School is a conference that promotes among students
impactful diplomatic deliberation on issues of
global importance. The AWS witnesses participation
from hundreds of students from schools and junior
colleges across the country each year.
The Jamnabai Narsee Co-operative Education (CO-OP
Programme) is a structured, annual programme for the
ISC Grade 11 and 12 students that aims to integrate
students' academic achievement with relevant,
quality work experience.
Eumind is a cultural exchange programme between
Indian and European schools that aims to nurture
global citizens who are socially responsible and
aware of their responsibilities towards our planet.
Jamnabai Narsee School has always endeavoured to
imbibe a deep sense of social consciousness by
sensitizing its students to work towards a brighter
tomorrow and become better citizens. In keeping with
this, the SUPW or the Socially Useful Productive
Work programme is an integral component of the ISC
curriculum. Students of Std. 11 and 12 take on
projects that aim to serve society or tackle
contemporary issues in a constructive fashion.
The TED-Ed Student Talks Program supports students
as they discover, explore and present their big
ideas in the form of short, TED-style talks.
